How to kill the buzz?

Has anyone else run into this? I’m on a 2023 VStrom 650 Wee fitted with Givi crash bars and I’ve been chasing down a persistent high frequency buzz that kicks in right around 5200 RPM. It’s not just mildly annoying its enough to make longer rides feel fatiguing and it seems to resonate through the bars in a way that makes me wonder if it’s an issue with harmonic vibration. I’ve checked all mounting points and even tried adding rubber spacers to isolate the contact points, but no real change. Curious if anyone else has experienced this with the same setup and if so, what (if anything) finally worked to kill the buzz?

been there, man. have you try to loosen & retorque everything? also check for Hidden Contact, I mean, really poke around. Sometimes a wire loom, a hose, or a bit of fairing is just barely touching the crash bar and transmitting the buzz. Ziptie or pad it apart.

Yeah, I'm experiencing the same issue with mine! It's a pretty well-known quirk with the Givi bars on the VStrom 650 around that 5.2K RPM mark. What worked wonders for me was throwing in some rubber spacers at the mid-joint and then re-torquing all the bolts with a good thread locker. Made a huge difference! If you're still having trouble with it, you could also think about adding some weight to the bar ends or maybe even filling the bars themselves. Hope that helps

Any kind of dampening material around joints will help you eliminate or at least minimize this. Or you can learn to live with it.

Did you get to find out and fix what was the issue?
A buddy of mine recently had a very similar high-frequency on his V-Strom.
It turned out that his headlight assembly is vibrating against its mounts at certain RPMs.
He swore it was the crash bars too but it turned out that the fairing around the headlight was just ever-so-slightly loose, letting the whole assembly hum.
Adding some thin strips of self-adhesive foam weatherstripping fixed it for him but it took a bit of trial and error to find the exact spots!

Those kinds of sounds are always metal or metal or metal on plastic, so it's just a matter of finding the source of it. The crash bars might be the culprit, but there are tons of other things that might cause this problem. It's probably going to take a while, but I'm sure you'll eventually find it.
