Fuel gauge acting weird

I ride a 2017 Suzuki V-Strom 650 and my fuel gauge has been acting funny. After I fill up, it takes a while to show full. Sometimes it jumps around while I'm riding.
I looked at the wires and they seem okay. Has anyone else had this happen? Could it be the part that sends the fuel info?

It seems like you might be dealing with a faulty fuel sender unit, which is a known issue for V-Stroms from that era. The float or the resistor track inside the tank often gets corroded over time. The good news is, you can access it from the top without having to remove the tank. Start by cleaning the contacts, but be prepared that you might need to pick up a new sender assembly.

Yep, sounds like the sender unit to me @g00drides45, especially if the wiring looks solid. I’d start with cleaning the contacts and giving the float a gentle tap. If it’s still jumpy, a replacement sender might be the way to go.
