Is this a good deal?

So I found a 2017 Suzuki V-Strom 650 with around 40,000 km, quite a few mods and heated grips!

It had just one owner and looks like it's been well-loved. they're asking $5800 CAD for it. Does that sound like a fair price up here in Canada? what should I be checking out when I go to see the bike in person?

Any advice from experienced owners would be helpful

That's already a good buy if it's been well-loved. You said it yourself, it looks like it's been babied. And the mods are good in your opinion or? I guess just ask for service repair history if you can.

yeahh its a pretty fair price especially with extras and low km, although when you see it, check chain sprockets, tire wear, any signs of drops basically

The price is decent. now, what you need to check first is the ownership, then the appearance, the engine, and make sure you have a test drive. I would recommend that you not buy a used bike with a problem

It's an okay price but you could go lower, I swear. Just practice to do some sweet-talk or something.

Seems like a fair price, but as @gemini vegetarian said, you can try to knock a couple of hundred bucks off it. Check to see if something seems off or isn't in the shape it should be. You can take it to a mechanic and have them go over it in greater detail

I helped a buddy pick up a 2016 V-Strom a couple of years ago. It had pretty much the same mileage and mods, and we ended up paying just under 6k after some friendly negotiations. The bike was in great shape but had a bit of wear on the chain, which we used to our advantage. Make sure to bring a flashlight to check out the sprockets, and if possible, try to catch the seller when the engine's cold so you can listen for any odd startup sounds.
