I'm trying to figure out the differences between the 2014-2016 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 models and the 2017 models, but I'm having a hard time finding a good, solid article that breaks it all down. I'm hoping some of you with more experience can help me out.
Why do some 2014-2016 models have the "1000" label on the side of the fuel tank, while others don't? Is that a trim level difference or something else?
I'm pretty sure I read that you can't turn off the ABS on the 2014-2016 models, but you can on the newer 2017 models. Is this right? And are there any other specifications that differ between the two generations?

I'd appreciate any insights

From what I know, the 1000 decal on the tank was more of a regional or year specific styling thing, not tied to trim. Mechanically, the 2014 to 2016 and 2017 share a lot, but the newer one just feels a bit more refined overall.
