Took my old V-Strom 650 in for a charging issue that I just couldn't figure out. After some poking around, they told me it needed a new stator and harness, more than what the bike is even worth. And, to top it all off, I walked out with a $500 bill just for the diagnosis.
So, I asked one of the salespeople about trading it in since a couple of bikes on the floor really caught my eye. He said he'd look into it for me. But when I came back to pick up my bike, there was no update, no numbers, nothing. The bikes I was interested in had already sold, and it honestly felt like no one cared if I stayed or walked out.
I ended up paying my bill, loading up my bike, and leaving super frustrated. Is this really how dealerships operate these days, or was it just my bad luck? I'm curious to hear about your experiences with dealers lately.
